Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum delivers deep hydration and boost of moisture while calming skin. It is great for those with dry itchy, sensitive, oily to acne prone skin. This is the upgraded reformulated version which is supposed to absorb faster and essential oils were removed to make this serum more suitable for all skin types.

This 80ml / 2.7oz serum is packaged in a hard plastic bottle with pump. This pump dispenses the perfect amount of product each time and the bottle is see thru so I can see how much I have left. The watery-like gel texture has a medium thick consistency. Think of it as a thinner aloe vera texture. It does not have any fragrances or scent that I can smell.
The water-based gel texture is very aqueous and absorbs quickly into skin. If you apply too much skin will feel tacky and will be a little longer to absorb. Once everything is fully absorbed it will not longer feel tacky. That’s just my personal experience when I was testing this. Made my skin feel plump, hydrated, and somewhat dewy.
There is cooling refreshing sensation during the application so areas where I had redness felt some comfort. On a hot day this texture is perfect on skin without feeling heavy or suffocating. In the evening I apply this serum after I have double-cleansed, toned, applied essence. If I am in a rush I skip toner/essence and just apply two layers of the serum.
Works great as AM makeup base since it moisturizes and plumps my skin making the surface smooth for makeup to lay down evenly. One layer keeps my skin hydrated and makeup and sunscreen stay on all day. At night my skin tends become a bit drier so I can easily apply 2 layers and seal it in with a thin layer of moisturizing cream.
I also use it to spot treat and target areas with redness or uneven textures for extra attention. It is super moist and quickly softens the area. It may not be hydrating enough for those with extra dry skin but will give skin a nice boost. If you apply two layers it should be adequate moisture.
Overall, nothing super fancy about this serum. I’d say it is a good introductory mild hyaluronic acid serum for those who are exploring more of Korean skincare. A good option on days where you are taking a break on actives. It works great on it’s own and makes a good layering product in your skincare routine.
