L’occitane 100% pure shea butter is a holy grail product that I have used over the years and has never failed me. This multi tasking product has really transformed my skin in every way. I use this everywhere from face to body. Dry cracked skin, cuticles, scars, sunburn, eczema patches, lips, and taming flyaway hairs around my hairline. It is intensely hydrating and I use it all year round to deal with any skin situation I run into.

Shea butter is a good alternative to coconut oil especially if coconut oil breaks you out. This shea butter is all natural certified organic. It is enriched with antioxidant vitamin E, anti-inflammatory, and stimulates collagen production. L’Occitane has sourced shea butter from women in Burkina Faso West Africa for over 30 years. I like to support brands who are committed to developing sustainable fair trade and care about our environment.

I really like how the tin is tiny and convenient to carry around. The screw top lid packaging makes it practically spill proof so I won’t find the lid detaching itself in my purse or bag. The fact that this shea butter comes in a solid form makes it super easy to use without much mess. The formula is semi soft solid. With a few swirls in the tin my finger can easily pick up the product.

I only need a small amount to rub into skin. This shea butter melts into a nice oily texture. It does take a few minutes to rub in before the oiliness disappears. I love that this has no scent considering it is refined shea butter where the nutty shea butter scent is removed during the extraction process. At some point I should give unrefined raw shea butter a try as well since it has far more nutritional content and vitamins but has a strong nutty scent.

Dependent on how much or how often you use shea butter this little tin can last for a very long time, like a year. Fortunately, this comes in two sizes, 5.2 oz and 0.35 oz. I keep the bigger tin at home and the smaller one in my purse. It is pricey but so worth it considering it has no scent, a little bit of product goes along ways, and I use it when I really need it.

L’occitane 100% pure shea butter is available at Sephora and L’occitane.
