Today I am rounding up my Top 10 Makeup Favorites of 2018. On New Year’s Day, I spent the day at home doing a massive purge of all my skincare and makeup products. It was something very long over due that I had been meaning to do last year and just didn’t quite get around to it. It made me assess how much makeup I owned and how much of it did I actually use. In 2019 I will be a smarter shopper for sure, but for now I’ve tried to narrow down my most reached for products during the year regardless if they were Prestige or budget friendly. It will be a mixed of staples and new discoveries.
Son & Park Beauty Water multi-tasking toner + cleansing water gets decanted into a little spray bottle. Love giving my face a good spritz of this in the morning after a cleansed face to hydrate before I start my moisturizing routine. Makes my makeup go on flawlessly.
Tatcha The Silk Canvas is amazing. I don’t need much to prime my face so I skip the coin scraper and give a few swipes with my fingers. Creates a nice smooth surface while filling in all the lines. Keeps my makeup in place all day. A little goes a long ways as I still have not hit pan. Review here
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation continues to be my go to foundation even though I had been testing other foundations in 2018. This goes on very light, smooth, blends beautifully, holds up well in humid weather. Feels hydrating on skin and love the satin finish. Light to medium coverage. Great for dry skin.
Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette smells deliciously peachy!! Love the color story in this palette, can do light to dark looks easily. Great pigmentation so I use a light hand when dipping into the shadows. Love the formulation & texture of the shadows as they were very blendable.
Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette has my favorite pink-neutral shades. Nice pigmentation and the colors transition well with each other. I am able to create many soft day time looks to smokey evening looks. Some of the shades are a tad chalky with fall outs but nothing major and can be swept away with a face brush.
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer was my most reached for bronzer when I needed contouring. It’s perfect in that, it is not too brown or too orange. The matte finish is beautiful and does not oxidize on my skin. Blends out nicely and looks very natural looking. Plus it smells like chocolate!!
Milani Baked Blushes are my most used blushes of any high end blushes that I own. Love the marble baked pans, super pigmented, and looks very flattering on my skin. Luminoso is my all time favorite shade. Reminds me of NARS Orgasm, leaves my skin with a beautiful dewy sheen. I get many compliments on this.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder is my go to setting & finishing powder when I set my foundation. Dim Light is the perfect shade on my skin. Love the light reflecting particles as it gives my skin a nice luminous glow and soft flawless look. Read here
YSL Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stains are my favorite liquid matte lipsticks that do not dry out my lips! Beautiful shade range. Formula is super thin, goes on smooth, and dries quickly. They are long lasting even thru eating and since it feels light weight I rarely notice they are on my lips. Read hereY
Fenty Gloss Bomb Lip Gloss is stunning. Love the tinted universal sheer shade as it is suitable for every skin tone. I usually wear this alone and sometimes as a lip topper. The formula is pretty thick but goes very smoothly. Feels hydrating on my lips and and long lasting.
