Benefit is known for having exciting product launches. I was very lucky to be gifted Benefit’s newest launch, the Benefit BADGal Bang! mascara. I am already a big fan of the Benefit Roller Lash which does an amazing job of getting into the lash and giving it a curl all while lengthening. When I heard the new mascara used aeroparticles to create massive fluffy lashes, I was very excited to see what the hype was all about.

What is it
A 36-hour, full-blast, volumizing mascara that creates massive volume without weighing down lashes.

Claims

The BADgal Bang has soft flexible tapered plastic bristle brush. On the first application to bare lashes, it provided very little volume to my lashes. Love how it goes on jet black on the first coat. The length of the brush is longer than most mascara’s which helped to reached even the tiniest lashes especially near the inner corners. Product is light weight and glided on my sparse lashes easily. I found it a bit hard to get my lashes long and lengthened without them looking spidery. Due to the mascara formula being wetter than the Lash Roller and They’re Real, too much product is being deposited to the lash causing the spidery affect. Knowing this, I have to go in very light handed so I did not get the thickness & volume as I had hoped for. However, the moment I go back to add a second coat, my lashes experienced clumping and began to lose their curl. Definitely not a polished look for me. However, when applied on false lashes, they were great. Since false lashes have the appearance of thickness, the mascara provided volume effortlessly.

This had pretty good staying power though out the day. No smudging or flaking. I double cleanse in the evening, first with an oil based cleanser & second with an gel/cream based cleanser. The BADgal Bang mascara came off fairly easily. Not sure about the 36 hour claim. I don’t even wear face makeup for 36 hours straight let alone why would it matter if mascara lasted that long. Who really wears mascara for 36 hours without washing their face? I know I don’t, everything comes off my face in the evening before heading to bed.

Overall, I much prefer Benefit’s Roller Lash & They’re Real over Badgal Bang. I had high hopes for this mascara to work since it has a longer brush. It took alot of my time to get the perfect lashes. All while trying to avoid the spidery lash look/clumping, is too much effort on my end. The more brush strokes I used the more straight my lashes became. I have naturally sparse lashes, one coat of this is fine but no volume. When applied to false lashes, this gave a lot of volume.

Thank you @benefitcosmetics for the gift. All opinions are my own.
