Kate Somerville Exfolikate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment has been a staple in my skincare routine for a few years now. It has enough grit and texture to polish off dry dead skin and always leaves my face feeling baby soft. It’s the perfect product to use at home for a quick facial under 2 minutes.

The Exfolikate Intensive comes in a simple flip top squeeze tube packaging which makes it hygiene friendly. I do not have to worry about dipping my fingers in a jar. Depending on where you purchase this from, it comes in several sizes (mini, regular, jumbo). I always have mini’s on hand whenever I go on travel and a regular size at home.

I have sensitive skin and usually use physical exfoliants, however when I need something a bit stronger the Exfolikate Intensive is probably one of the very few chemical exfoliants that my skin can tolerate. It contains AHAs & BHAs acids, the brands website does not clearly indicate percentages but it likely contains low percentages which is why I can handle this.

It also contains natural fruit enzymes from papaya, pineapple, and pumpkin. There are grainy bits of silica that help with the actual exfoliation in lifting dead skin. Aloe Vera & Vitamin E to smooth skin. Has a greenish color and smells like cinnamon or licorice which is not overwhelming but actually find quite pleasing

After I have cleansed off my makeup, while my skin is still damp I will squeeze out a pea size to almond size amount of product. You can apply this all over face but I generally focus on the areas where I have dryness or uneven skin texture. I give it a good 30 second massage and during that time I do feel tingling but not irritating. Leave it on for about a minute and rinse off. It feels like an all in one cleanser + mask + scrub which I like.

It has improved my uneven skin texture and leaves the surface smooth. It is gentle, did not strip my skin of moisture, and no tightness. Has just enough grit to do the polishing or loosening up dead skin without the abrasiveness. I do my best to use this once a week. A little goes a long ways so if you get a mini size tube it will last you for a while without hurting your wallet.
