Reading Time: 3 minutes

BeautyBio gifted me their GloPRO Facial Microneedling Tool. Microneedling can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, stimulates new cell turnover, and helps your skincare to absorb better. I have been curious about at home microneedling tools for the longest time but was completely terrified to put a needle to the face. When Beauty Bio reached out, I decided it was time to be a big girl and try this tool out.

The Glo Pro at home device is an non-invasive painless treatment that rejuvenates skin and boosts the absorption of your skincare products. Requires 2x triple AAA batteries. It penetrates the skin barrier with pro-grade stainless steel .3mm tiny needles. The LED red light therapy and vibrating stimulation help to rejuvenate skin and promote cellular turnover.

The first time I used this I made sure to sanitize the roller with rubbing alcohol. I tested this on my inner arm the first few days to practice rolling and test the ouch factor. Once I felt comfortable with that, I used it on my face. I ensure skin is freshly cleansed and don’t apply anything else. I roll it for 15 seconds in vertical, horizontal, and diagonal directions on each cheek, forehead, and chin, plus a few extra seconds on dry patches. Be sure to sanitize again after using.

It didn’t hurt but felt a prickly sensation that was tolerable. Left my face slightly flushed for a few minutes before it went away. I wait 1 to 2 minutes for my skin to calm down before applying my skincare. I specifically use gentle skincare products that do not contain actives.

I am trying to avoid any skin reactions or burning since I have sensitive skin. I’ve read other reviews where people applied vitamin c and retinoids after rolling and their face stung and burned like crazy. I recommend patch testing beforehand to see if your skin can handle it.

I got the hang to this after the first few times and tested this for a month, 2x a week. I have noticed my serums and moisturizers absorbing better. My pores and uneven skin texture areas felt smoother. Overall my complexion looked healthy and radiant. Going forward I will probably use this 1x a week to maintain.

If you can splurge on this device or other microneedling devices it is a nice addition to skincare routine although it is not necessary. I’m fortunate my skin deals with uneven skin texture, pores, and dullness however those with hyperpigmentation, scarring, and wrinkles may experience more success.
